Join Erica in celebrating the rich culture and beauty of Ubud during the Balinese New Year. This retreat wonderfully combines deep yoga practice and potent relaxation. Our home for the week is the perfect tranquil setting for self-exploration and embodied movement. We’ll tap into our physical potential through daily asana, pranayama, and mindful meditation practices. You will learn about the Balinese culture and the significance of their New Year and its unique rituals. Each day will be a mixture of both practice and participation as you experience the distinctive ceremonies done in preparation for the mid-week celebrations of Nyepi, the Day of Silence for the New Year. For the Balinese, this is a potent time of year for self-reflection and cleansing. They observe 24 hours of total silence, preceded by firecrackers, singing, laughter, parades, and general excitement everywhere.

The Bali Institute, Ubud’s premiere cultural organization, will also guide us on exclusive immersion experiences to some of Bali’s most colorful markets and sacred local temples. We will observe ancient spiritual practices and meet community leaders and dignitaries to develop a better understanding of this unique culture. Don’t miss this opportunity to get away for a week in paradise with Erica!
